1st Day
En route
Depart the USA on overnight flight to Madrid.
2nd Day
Madrid
Arrival at Madrid airport and transfer to your hotel. Free day. You might choose to visit one of Madrid's legendary museums.
3rd Day
Madrid
Buffet breakfast. Today's guided walking tour of medieval Toledo will include the cathedral, the synagogue, and a masterpiece by El Greco. Lunch. Return to Madrid for a sightseeing tour of the principal avenues and monuments; the Alcala Gate, the Plaza Mayor, Plaza de España, plus the Neptuno and Cibeles fountains.
4th Day
Madrid -Cordoba - Seville
Buffet breakfast. Depart southward, crossing the Plains of La Mancha, towards Cordoba. Tour the unique Great Mosque and later, continue to Seville. Dinner.
5th Day
Seville
Buffet breakfast. Your morning guided tour will include the interior of the enormous gothic cathedral. Admire the Giralda belltower. Stroll through the quaint Santa Cruz quarter. Luncheon in a typical restaurant. Free afternoon.
6th Day
Seville -Granada
Buffet breakfast. Depart through central Andalusia to Granada, home to the impressive Alhambra. Your guided tour will include the harem and the baths, as well as the Court of the Lions and the Gardens of the Generalife. Dinner.
7th Day
Granada - Valenica
Buffet breakfast. Depart to Puerto Lumbreras and on to Murcia. Continue to Valencia for dinner. Accommodations.
8th Day
Valencia -Barcelona
Buffet breakfast. Morning tour of Valencia, known as the city of flowers. Departure north along the Mediterranean coast to Barcelona.
9th Day
Barcelona
Buffet breakfast. Morning tour of this cosmopolitan Catalonian capital, including the gothic quarter with its great cathedral. Also visit Montjuich and the Pueblo Español. Lunch. The afternoon is free.
10th Day
Barcelona - Pamplona - San Sebastian
Buffet breakfast. Departure to famous Pamplona, where each July the "Running of the Bulls" is held as part of the San Fermin festival. Later, continue to Spain's northern coast for dinner and accommodations in charming San.
11th Day
Sebastian-Bilbao- Santander
Buffet breakfast and departure to Bilbao, where there will be free time for an opportunity to visit the fabulous new Guggenheim Museum (entry not included). Later continue to the elegant coastal city of Santander. Dinner.
12th Day
Santander - Santillana del Mar - Santander
Buffet breakfast. Excursion to Santillana del Mar, a delightful medieval village which is perfectly preserved. Return to Santander for dinner and accommodations.
13th Day
Santander - Gijon
Depart along the ruggedly beautiful COSTA VERDE (green coast) to the picturesque small city of Gijon in the Province of Asturias, for dinner and accommodations.
14th Day
Gijon-Ribadeo - A Coruña
Buffet breakfast. Departure and continue along the coastline to the scenic fishing village of Ribadeo. Then to the maritime city of A Coruña, surrounded by water on three sides. Dinner.
15th Day
Coruña -Santiago de Compostela
Buffet breakfast. Morning free in Coruña to vist the city's charming streets and promenades. Afternoon departure to nearby Santiago de Compostela, famed pilgrimage center from the middle ages. Dinner.
16th Day
Santiago de Compostela
Buffet breakfast. Morning escorted city tour, featuring the impressive cathedral containing the tomb of St. James the Apostle. In the afternoon enjoy an excursion to the "Rias Bajas" and the holiday island of La Toja.
17th Day
Santiago de Compostela - Madrid
Buffet breakfast and departure inland, leaving "green Spain" behind to cross old Castile and back to Madrid.
18th Day
En route
Buffet breakfast. Your Petrabax transferist will drive you to Madrid airport at the proper time to catch your flight home.
