Parador De Seu d' Urgell
A CLOISTER FULL OF VEGETATION
This Parador rises up next to the Romanesque cathedral of La Seu d'Urgell,
in a monumental setting also open to nature, which attracts numerous hikers,
lovers of mountains and no end of tourists making their way to the Andorran
paradise. The world famous Canoeing Championships are held on the river Segre
here during the summer. On the interior the former renaissance cloister stands
out, presenting a tropical appearance thanks to the profusion of ivy, hanging
plants and landscaped galleries, and a pleasant indoor swimming pool. The rest
of the common rooms display elegance, luminosity and comfort, which can also
be appreciated in the restaurant, a real showcase for the cooking of Lleida:
warm salad with a sampling of duck and cheese, the "cargols a la llauna"
(grilled snails) and "trinxat de L'Alt Urgell" (vegetables with streaked port
fat) are exemples of the cuisine presented at the Parador.

HOW TO GET THERE
The Parador is located in the old quarter of Seo de Urgel, in Calle Sant
Domenec, sheltered by the Sala Sant Domenec, the Cathedral, the Town Hall
and the Seminary. The city is located 10 km from Andorra, its main access
being the N-260 from Lleida, Girona or Barcelona. It´s located 130 Km.
away from Lérida, the capital of the province. |
