Parador De Arties
A REFUGE WITH PYRENEAN CHARM
Located in the Val d'Arán, just 7 km from Baqueira, in a part of the Catalan
Pyrenees where the woods, the snow-capped peaks in winter and the freshness
of the green in summer, are the true protagonists of the landscape. The
Parador, with local architecture, rises up in the so-called Casa de D. Gaspar
de Portolá, the discoverer of California. It has attic bedrooms, wood lined
beams, numerous conference rooms, among which the Salón Chimenea stands out,
and friendly common rooms which invite you to stay the night in an ideal
setting for taking up outdoor activities. The cooking is influenced by the
specialities of the region such as "olla aranesa" (stew), trout "a la llosa",
"civet de jabalí" (jugged wild boar) and the sweet "pescajus de Artíes".

Located at the gates to the town, at the entrance of Artíes, the Parador is
7 km from Vielha, which is reached on leaving the N-230, taking the main
road which goes towards the Baqueira Beret ski resort. Artíes is located
170 Kilometres away from Lleida, the capital of the province. |
