Armorgos
Amorgos, the island of the big blue, has much to offer its visitors. Among the
various sights you will be interested in visiting are the beautiful monastery of
Panagia Hozoviotissa, glued on a vertical rock, 300 m above the sea, the wonderful
Cycladic architecture of the houses, the castle and the Gabras Tower in Hora, the
capital of the island, and the remains of the ancient town of Minoa in Katapola,
which also offers an amazing view.
You can also follow one of the many dirt roads that lead to some of the most
amazing locations found all over the island and especially near the sea.
The cool climate combined with the bright sun of the Aegean will refresh you
and offer you a healthy environment for your excursions. Amorgos is a mountainous
island with few but wonderful interruptions of green and with many sandy beaches
that will amaze you with their beauty.
This island has all the characteristic Cycladic colours and a special
traditional character that will fascinate you with its simplicity and tranquillity.
The calm surroundings seem unearthly with the brown hills and rough steeps above
the deep blue sea and the small villages, appearing as white spots on the wild
ground.
Bikes or horse drawn carriage with cold brew or vino Greco......just have fun.
